Shock Absorbers in Jordan

Coming soon on Lagili — starting in Jordan and expanding across the Middle East.

What it does

Shock absorbers damp the oscillation of the springs so the tyre stays in contact with the road. They do not carry the weight of the car — the springs do — but they control how the car settles after a bump.

Signs it needs replacing

  • The car continues bouncing after a speed bump
  • Nose dives heavily under braking
  • Uneven cupped wear across the tyre tread
  • Oil visible weeping down the shock body

FAQ

How do I test shock absorbers?

Push down hard on one corner of the car and release. A healthy shock lets the body rise once and settle. If it bounces two or three times, that shock has lost its damping.

Do they have to be replaced in pairs?

Yes, always as an axle pair. A new shock on one side and a worn one on the other gives uneven damping across the axle, which makes the car unstable under braking and in corners.
