Flywheel in Jordan
Coming soon on Lagili — starting in Jordan and expanding across the Middle East.

What it does
The flywheel stores rotational inertia to smooth the engine firing pulses and provides the friction surface for the clutch disc plus the ring gear the starter engages. Dual-mass versions add internal springs to damp vibration.
Signs it needs replacing
- Rattle at idle that disappears when the clutch is pressed
- Juddering when pulling away
- Grinding when starting the engine
- Heat cracks or a blue discoloured friction surface

FAQ
What is a dual-mass flywheel and why does it fail?
It has two masses linked by internal springs to absorb engine vibration before it reaches the gearbox. Those springs and their damping wear out over time, producing rattle at idle — and unlike a solid flywheel it cannot simply be machined flat.
Can a flywheel be resurfaced?
A solid flywheel usually can, provided enough material remains. Dual-mass units generally cannot be meaningfully repaired, because the wear is in the internal damping rather than the friction face.
