What causes driveshaft vibration?
Usually a worn universal or CV joint, a bent shaft after an impact, or a failed centre support bearing on longer two-piece shafts. Because it is speed-dependent, the vibration grows steadily rather than appearing at one specific speed.
Can a driveshaft be repaired rather than replaced?
Often yes — joints and centre bearings are serviceable on many designs, and a shaft can be rebalanced. Whether it is worthwhile depends on whether the tube itself is straight and uncorroded.
