How often should brake fluid be changed?
Every two years regardless of mileage, because the degradation is caused by absorbed moisture rather than use. In humid coastal conditions like Aqaba, the interval matters even more.
What is the difference between DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1?
Mainly boiling point — DOT 4 and 5.1 tolerate more heat than DOT 3. All three are glycol-based and can be mixed in an emergency. DOT 5 is silicone-based and must never be mixed with the others.
