What it does
Fuel injectors atomise fuel into a fine spray at precise timing and quantity, controlled by the engine ECU. Their nozzles are extremely fine, so deposits and contamination affect spray pattern before they block flow entirely.

FAQ
Can injectors be cleaned rather than replaced?
Yes, ultrasonic cleaning on a bench restores many injectors and includes flow testing so you can see which were actually out of spec. It is considerably cheaper than replacement and often worth trying first.
Do fuel additives clean injectors?
A quality detergent additive can slow deposit build-up and help mild cases, but it will not restore a badly fouled or mechanically worn injector. Treat it as maintenance rather than repair.
