FAQ
How old is too old for a tyre?
Rubber hardens with age regardless of tread. Six years is a common guideline and ten years a firm limit, read from the four-digit DOT week-and-year code on the sidewall. Sustained heat and UV exposure accelerate the ageing considerably.
Does tyre pressure really matter that much?
Yes — it affects braking distance, fuel consumption, wear rate and blowout risk. Under-inflation makes the sidewall flex and build heat, which is the main cause of high-speed blowouts in hot weather. Check pressures cold, monthly.
